Synopsis:
Set
in the late 21st century, a subculture of humans
have emerged who have been modified genetically
by a vampire-like disease (hemophagia), giving
them enhanced speed, incredible stamina and
acute intelligence. As they are set apart from
"normal, healthy" humans, the world is pushed to
the brink of worldwide civil war (a war between
humans and hemophages) aimed at the destruction
of the diseased population. In the middle of
this crossfire is an infected woman, Ultraviolet
(played by
Milla Jovovich), who finds herself
protecting a nine-year-old boy who has been
marked for death by the human government as he
is believed to be a threat to humans.
Nate's Rating: D :
Ok, when I watch a Mila Jokokovvikkovick (or whatever) film, I expect,
almost want, it to be bad. But I want it to be bad in certain way. I want it
be bad because the film makers were having so much fun making a rediculous
sci-fi movie that they forgot to add in things like plausibility and character
development. I don't want it to be bad because it's just boring. That's what
this was. Plus, the only reason to watch any Mila Jokalot movie at all, that
being Mila, just didn't look as good as she usually does. But that might be my
tv... However, I gave it a D rather than an F because I thought some of the
futuristic technology gadgets were nifty. And I like guns.
