The Freak's Rating: B- : With all the lack of originality out there in mainstream American films, it is nice to see stories that teeter on the verge of extremely creative.  The sadness with The Station Agent is that it drifts off into a melodramatic mess near its final act.  The acting is superb here with great performances by Peter Dinklage, Patricia Clarkson and especially Bobby Cannavale.  I was in love with the film 2/3 of the way through, but then it began to retread dramas past and have inexplicable dropoff with character chemistry.  Had the script been tighter here, you have an A film for sure.
