Synopsis:
Thomas Anderson is a man living two lives. By
day he is an average computer programmer and by
night a malevolent hacker known as Neo. Neo has
always questioned his reality but the truth is
far beyond his imagination. Neo finds himself
targeted by the police when he is contacted by
Morpheus, a legendary computer hacker branded a
terrorist by the government. Morpheus awakens
Neo to the real world, a ravaged wasteland where
most of humanity have been captured by a race of
machines which live off of their body heat and
imprison their minds within an artificial
reality known as the Matrix. As a rebel against
the machines, Neo must return to the Matrix and
confront the agents, super powerful computer
programs devoted to snuffing out Neo and the
entire human rebellion.
Brian's Rating:
A+ :
I am a huge fan of both science fiction and fantasy. It starts with books, and
spills over to movies where I like most of the small sampling that comes out
(although, more recently). Every decade or so, a movie comes along to
revitalize the sci-fi genre. Star Wars, T2, and then this one. The Matrix
incorporated revolutionary filming techniques to get some of the stop capture
360 viewpoint angles, and the effect is simply amazing.
Along with the
technical stuff, it comes with a rich story line, "mostly" good acting, and a
captivating environment. I still have a hard time shaking Keanu Reeves from the
Point Break role, and even in Matrix some of that comes through, but he does a
decent job playing Neo.
There is not much else to say about this one.
If, for some reason you have not seen it, and you do not have an irrational
hatred for the action/sci-fi film genre, then you need to pull your head out of
the sand and go rent it.
Sebastian's Rating: A+ : finally, we're reviewing this movie
this is probably one of the best si fi movies around these days. there's not
much to say about this movie, every knows it and everyones probably seen it.
Apart from the next two matrix movies, this is probably my one of my favourite
movies ever. mainly for the fighting scenes, special effects and the amazing
techno world!
i think this movie deserves an A+
