Synopsis:
Mikey Walsh and Brandon Walsh are
brothers whose family is preparing to move because developers want to build a
golf course in the place of their neighborhood...unless enough money is raised
to stop the construction. A rainy day leads the kids to try to find
anything to do to keep their minds off of this familial transition, so they trip
up to the Walsh attic, where they stumble upon a treasure map of the famed
"One-Eyed" Willy's hidden fortune. Mikey, Brandon, and their friends
Lawrence "Chunk" Cohen, Clark "Mouth" Devereaux, Andrea "Andy" Carmichael,
Stefanie "Stef" Steinbrenner, and Richard "Data" Wang, embark on an adventure to
try to save their town.
The Freak's Rating: A- :
The Goonies tests the boundaries of
my ratings, but how can I not give it an A? By my scale, an A is given to
a film I will definitely watch again, and The Goonies is certainly in that camp.
Steven Spielberg is solid gold on direction and teaming with Richard Donner,
they brought The Goonies to the screen wonderfully. The only points I can
take away are for the writing, which is laden with incredibly cheesy lines.
However, this film is still as fun as it was twenty years ago.
Jennifer M's Rating: A :
Okay, so I know this was a goofy kid movie, but they rarely make
adventure movies like this anymore. I think every pack of neighborhood kids
needs to see this movie.
Jen's Rating: A- :
Just a classic really. The acting is pretty poor and it's extremely
cheesy but those of us who grew up in the 80's will always love this movie.
Angie's Rating: A :
I just caught this on TV last weekend... wow, I love the 80's! "Hey
you guys!!!" :) Classic.
Sebastian's Rating: A- : i have had this movie at home for a long time.
the fact im giving this an A- is because this is an old movie and despite its
pretty lame special effects and stuff its actually very entertaining. It is
probably still one of the best family 'action' movies round these days
