Synopsis:

The Brothers Bloom are the best con men in the world, swindling millionaires with complex scenarios of lust and intrigue. Now they've decided to take on one last job - showing a beautiful and eccentric heiress the time of her life with a romantic adventure that takes them around the world.

Brian's Rating: A : Excellent film. If it wasn't for the completely unbeatable "Inglorious Basterds" this would be my favorite movie from 2009. And its a Romantic Comedy!! Take that you pundits that say I never give a romantic comedy a fair shake.

This is what a romantic comedy should be in my opinion. I smiled throughout the movie, fell in love with just about every main character, and enjoyed how it was all brought together in the end. It deliberately does not follow the same old boring money making chick flick mold, but I daresay that chicks will like it just as much, if not more.

I just now looked up the director and see that he also did "Brick". I also loved that movie. This guy has some talent and I am now going to put him on the list of directors that I automatically give any new material a chance.

Unfortunately this is not going to win any awards, but it could if it was not going up against "Inglorius Basterds", which should sweep everything unless the people who decide these things are on crack.

Angie's Rating: C+ : From time to time, I come to this site hoping to get ideas on a rental. I rented this movie purely based on the review above. I will give this movie credit, it's definitely original and the acting is well done by most. You really can't go wrong with Adrian Brody or Rachel Weis. I thought Mark Ruffalo did a mediocure job. The style of story telling was a bit over the top, and I'm not sure that I would classify this as a romantic comedy... comedy yes, originality yes, but romantic ummm.... no. It seemed almost cartoonish. It was all about one brother giving the other brother a story to follow for a con, so that he could come up with courage to talk to girls... eventually, he can't tell reality from his brother's cons. The story gets lost and becomes a little over the top for me. (I was fighting to stay awake in parts) I am glad it was something different, but I don't think I'd watch it again.
