Those who follow the site regularly know that I have a semi-love affair with Amy Adams going...at least with her work as an actress. Adams has put on amazing performances in every project she attaches herself to. Adding Emily Blunt and Alan Arkin to a film based on cleaning up dead bodies...well this should have been a winner.
Acting is solid in the film, but many points within fall flat, some even being predictable. The child actor is worthless and both Blunt and Adams have their talent underused here. Arkin is reliable as their father and the script is mediocre enough to garner a few laughs, but the potential for far more was here and thus I'm dissappointed for the most part. Without the leading actresses, a few good laughs and a few good dramatic clips, this slips to a D.
