Synopsis:

Bandit and Cledus are two truck-driving southerners who accept a dare from big-shots Big and Little Enos to pick up a truckload of beer from Texas and return it to them within a specified amount of time. Picking it up is simple enough, but as they are leaving Texas, Bandit unwittingly picks up Carrie, a hitchhiking bride-to-be who just left her groom, Junior, at the altar. Junior, however, is the son of Sheriff Buford T. Justice. And when Buford and Junior discover what has happened, they go on a "high-speed pursuit" across the Southeast to catch the bandit.

Storminator's Rating: D : Pros: Decent (for the time period) chase scenes, cheesy bad guy music, Burt Reynolds.  Cons: Just the plot, characters, and dialogue.

The Freak's Rating: B : I can see where some complaints can come from on this movie, but for me it is a blast.  I had my first on-screen crush on Sally Field in this one and I can't imagine any boy growing up seeing this movie that didn't want a Trans Am for his first car (I was lucky enough to get that one actually :)  ).

Whenever I come across this one on TBS or TNT (on both of which it airs almost weekly), I always stop and watch.  I marvel at the fun that Reynolds and Gleason have on screen and the cuteness Field outputs.  It still holds up decently I feel.
