Synopsis:

FBI Agent Will Graham (Edward Norton) has been called out of early retirement to catch a serial killer, known by authorities as "The Tooth Fairy". He asks for the help of his arch-nemesis, Dr. Hannibal "The Cannibal" Lecter (Anthony Hopkins), so that he can be able to catch "The Tooth Fairy" and bring him to justice. The only problem is that "The Tooth Fairy" is getting inside information about Graham and his family from none other than Dr. Lecter himself.

Angie's Rating: A+ : I have been wanting to post this review for awhile.  I am sure I will get some sort of backlash when it's posted too.  I need to say, out of all of the Hannibal Lector themed films this one is the best.  I can't say it beats "Silence of the Lambs" by much or at all in execution, but is my personal favorite.  (Both get the same grade in my book)  You could make the excuse that I am only saying this because Edward Norton leads in this film, but it isn't.  I loved the twists and turns of this film, the overall creep factor (don't tell me the blind girl and the "tooth fairy's" relationship didn't give you the creeps), and the relationship between Lector and Graham and the way it was played out.  I liked the fact that the Graham character was less vulnerable than Starling character.  He was more of a hero.  I can't argue that the performance of Hopkins in Silence of the Lambs is one of the greatest roles of his career and movie history gold, but it did not entertain me as much as Red Dragon.  (By the way, there is another version of this film called "Manhunter" 1986 and stars William Peterson (CSI: Las Vegas), of which I thought Peterson's acting was terrible and the screenplay wasn't as well done.  In my opinion, ignore that one and watch the 2002 version.
