Synopsis:
Remy is a young rat in the French
countryside who arrives in Paris, only to find out that his cooking idol is
dead. When he makes an unusual alliance with a restaurant's new garbage boy, the
culinary and personal adventures begin despite Remy's family's skepticism and
the rat-hating world of humans.
Brian's Rating:
A : Loved it! Pixar nails it again. I can see now why people were lukewarm
on Wall-E since it had to stack up against this film. The writing was
endearing, the characters were charming, the voice acting was engaging, and the
original story of a rat chef was thoroughly entertaining. It is becoming quite
normal for Pixar to take an abnormal story setting and anthropomorphize it it
such a way that it is entertaining for the whole family. As testament to this,
our 1 year old son also loved it and was laughing throughout.
The
Freak's Rating: C+ : Pixar has set the bar pretty high for themselves
and perhaps have only themselves to blame for my poor appreciation of this film.
This one just didn't have the oomph for me. I thought the writing lacked
originality, it was entirely too predictable and the chief protagonist (boy
chef) was a little 2 dimensional for me. I just didn't care enough about
the characters to truly enjoy it. Compared with other Pixar gems, this one
doesn't even break the top 3.
Sebastian's Rating: A : wow how could you be so careless "freak" this
movie was great. yeah it wasn't a little kids movie but that's what's so grea
about this movie! it's mature and a great storyline. the moral is fantastic and
the animation is brilliant. it drags on a bit i admit but it's very
entertaining. the scenery and the charactors, everything is done wit hso much
care, this is not a cheapy movie. I love pixar and i love this movie and it's
only fair i give it an A!
Chana's
Rating: A : I loved this movie!!! It fascinated me and my kids from all
perspectives...the rats, the cooking and the budding romance of humans...now I
just need to cook this stuff...I have the recipe!
The
Shou's Rating: A : How can Pixar continually make such great films? I
honestly can't think of a Pixar film (that I have seen) which isn't good.
Ratatouille is another classic. Everything works in this film and there is very
little which is bad about this movie. I give this film an A because overall it
is amazing but at times it was a bit slow.
