Synopsis:

A television reporter and her cameraman are trapped inside a building quarantined by the CDC after the outbreak of a mysterious virus which turns humans into bloodthirsty killers.

The Freak's Rating: F : Told in a Blair Witch meets Cloverfield style, Quarantine attempts (and fails miserably at) to make a film that crosses boundaries and scares us with jumps and thrills from start to finish.  What it does is something far worse, making the audience reconsider ever watching a film in the horror genre again.

Casting is done with very little effort, with Jay Hernandez the film's most prominant actor, though you may not recognize anyone at all.  Writing is horrible, with dialogue a 10 year old strung out on juicy juice could conjure up without breaking a sweat.  In this genre the bar is set pretty low, allowing good death scenes and mediocre villains to make the film tolerable.  Here, the death scenes aren't creative and jumps are simple retreads of zombie flicks you've seen before.

The last hope that Quarantine will be a tolerable film is if the bad guy can be rooted for (e.g. Friday The 13th).  Sadly there is zero originality with the zombies, leaving them flat and boring.  I honestly couldn't have been happier when the credits started to roll.  This is an incredible waste of time.
