Rating: C : Netflix membership, $2. Blu-Ray upgrade, $1. Watching this
movie on New Years Eve afternoon....NOT priceless. Sorry, had to do that very
old catch line. Maybe if the tagline for the Mastercard was "average", then it
would apply.
The story has a real thin flavor of "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels". A woman makes
her living attaching herself to rich guys to get them to buy her all sorts of
stuff. She is in for a surprise when one of the men she was seducing was not
rich, but only a hotel worker posing as a tycoon. Since she cannot shake him,
she milks him for all he's worth and then proceeds to teach him the trade when
he stumbles on the opportunity to play opposite role with a random rich old
woman.
Small parts of the film are funny, but mostly not. Small parts of the movie
were romantic, but mostly not. The ending is predictable, and if it had a
larger focus on the comedy aspect, then I could forgive the implausibility of
the whole situation.
