Brian's
Rating: C+ : What is it about the Rodriguez style that is appealing? They're not very good. They are low class, and sometimes just downright ridiculous. For sure they incorporate a very twisted brand of humor. When watching this it occurred to me that the reason people like it is because its like the Evil Dead series. Its horror, but its not. Its really comedy, and purposely campy. It reminded me strongly of the Evil Dead Trilogy that I love.

So why didn't I like this one? I think its because it wasn't first. There is only room for me to enjoy a couple films like this, and that void has already been filled. Seeing the same appeal a 2nd time just didn't do it for me. Yeah, I get it, a chick with a gun for a leg. Cool... and it is cool, but I just was not in the mood for an Army of Darkness ripoff.

So yeah, the movie has an appeal that I recognize and its fun to watch, but does not make the grade to get a recommendation from me.
