Synopsis:
The
BBC Documentary filmed over a period of seven
years shows us our planet in a way it has never
been seen before.
Brian's
Rating: B :
I am going to break away from the norm for this
review and include this excellent made for TV
(BBC) mini-series. Although its a TV thing
originally, it has since gone on to be used as
icon for Blu Ray capability. The video
photography in this is simply amazing, and I
cannot think of anything better to show off the
video portion of a Hi Def home theater. For
instant, if you pop in the 2nd disk that has the
episode on caves and you will see what contrast
ratio is really good for.
Its a nature show for sure, but a darn good
one. It showcases wildlife, and ecosystems
categorically (caves, polar, jungle, desert,
etc.) I found it fascinating, and would
recommend it to anybody. Although technically
not a movie, I think a review of it belongs
here. I would give it higher than a B except...
well... it is just a nature show, and
educational material simply is not designed for
A-list entertainment.
