The
Freak's Rating: F : There comes a time in all our lives when we are laid
up somehow or another. Whether you are sick, or in my case recovering from
surgery, you just don't have the energy to be changing the channel that often.
I set my bedroom Tivo to record a number of movies to watch during my recovery
and first up was Mr. Woodcock, a film that I never would have chosen had I not
been on a high dose of medication.
Billy Bob Thornton stars as Mr.
Woodcock, the gym teacher from hell. Sean William Scott stars as John
Farley, one of Mr Woodcock's victims. Farley returns to his small home
town to receive an honorary key to the city, only to discover that his mother is
dating Mr Woodcock. It is an interesting formula, worthy of laughter for
sure...the reason I put it on my Tivo in the first place.
Acting isn't bad in the film, but
they are dealing with a turd and as many of you have heard me say before...you
can only polish a turd so much, it will still be a turd :). The script is
horrendous, full of ridiculous lines and situations that wouldn't make sense had
they been animated.
I didn't laugh once during this film,
not even at Billy Bob's haircut. This is a film you should skip at all
costs.
