Brian's Rating: B : When this movie first came out, I loved it.  I bought the VHS and probably watched it 3 times or so with various friends.  This is before it was commonplace for the Fresh Prince of Bel Air to have a part in a movie, and so it was novel at the time.  Will Smith does make the movie.  His character is hilarious, and interacts well with Tommy Lee Jones subtle serious humor.

Their are many very overt comedic lines in this movie, and there are also many subtle jokes.  It still cracks me up even after watching it after a long hiatus.  However, when compared to more recent comic book movies, comedy or not, this does not stack up as well as I would have liked.  For example, There was some good animatronics, but there was also some bad CGI.  Where Will Smith's character was fresh, it now is not.

I still like the movie, and would recommend it to anybody who has not seen it for some reason, but I doubt I will be spending 90 minutes on it again in my lifetime, for sure not for another 10 years.

Sebastian's Rating: B : I really am only giving this movie a rating for the sake of it. The acting was terrible, and the special effects are well done standing the acts of time. These days it's not an A standerd movie, but it's humerous and entertaining at times, giving it a B.

The Freak's Rating: B+ : Though I'll agree with Sebastian and Brian that the film doesn't quite live up to the status it had when it was released, I'd suggest that it just barely does in fact drop.  Wil Smith is over the top in nearly every line he delivers, but lets not forget that this was a coming out party for Smith, written especially for him.  The writing for dialogue is cheesy, but the special effects are still noticably impressive here and the casting is brilliant.  I'll drop it below an A for some of the dialogue, especially the last scene where Linda Fiorentino is atrocious, but for the most part it is a successful film.
