Synopsis:
Zombie's spin on Halloween is
to show much more of how and
why Micheal became scarier and
scarier and ultimately evolved
into a truly frightening
individual, pure evil. Nearly
half of the film follows
Micheal from a young child in
a troubled childhood through
the development into a serial
killer. It is quite fulfilling
to finally fill in some gaps
to what makes a monster.

Labor Day weekend, my brother
Jason and I were able to see
the latest installment in the
Halloween franchise. A side
note to all multiplexes out
there...be smart, have popcorn
specials! My mom purchased a
bucket of popcorn for $10 and
can refill it for the rest of
the year free of charge. A
STEAL! Anways, back to the
movie...
Rob Zombie is a master of
scaring people. Anyone who has
seen House of 1000 Corpses and
tells you they didn't feel the
least bit frightened after it
is full of crap. Zombie has a
way of drumming up what really
frightens or should frighten
you in film, a true gift for a
director to possess.
 I
am a HUGE fan of the original
Halloween movie and was
thrilled when I heard Rob
would be remaking it in his
own stylized manner. The
original film started out with
a short scene showing how
Micheal Myers became the evil
man and focused the remainder
of the film on what happnes
when he escapes the mental
asylum he is thrown into.
There is as much of a plot as
you'd expect for this type of
film. It stays fairly true to
the original and satisfies the
horror filmgoer's appetite for
blood, scares, jumps and
grossouts. In my opinion it
isn't as good or as scary as
either of Zombie's previous
films, but is still worth a
see if you like the genre and
the original.
