Synopsis:

Bertram Pincus, is a man whose people skills leave much to be desired. When Pincus dies unexpectedly, but is miraculously revived after seven minutes, he wakes up to discover that he now has the annoying ability to see ghosts.

The Freak's Rating: C- : Since The Office (the original BBC masterpiece, not the crap NBC is spewing), Ricky Gervais has been a comedic force, with nearly everything he touches turning to gold.  For those who haven't seen it, seek out the original Office and HBO's Extras.  They are hysterical.

Taking a top everyone is curious about (ghosts) and blending in a love story usually leads to a decent plot, but the script fails to make Gervais lovable in any way and solidifies Leoni as one of the most annoying actresses on the planet.  The always reliable Greg Kinnear is enjoyable here as a full-of-himself narcisist, but the meat of the story is meant to be the love story between two characters that couldn't be more physically awkward.  Casting of many other actresses would have lent itself to far better chemistry.

Gervais hits a low with Ghost Town.  Granted that his low is still middle of the scale as far as comedy goes, Ghost Town fails to utilize his comic talents in delivery, instead expecting him to contribute to the script of the film (not his strong suit).  Comic moments fail to leave an impression and the film is, for the most part, forgettable.

The Storminator's Rating: C : A bit of a twist on your typical chick flick, but too predictable to really be note-worthy.

Sebastian's Rating: C+ : I really can't hate this movie!

Funny in parts, however a little stupid overall. However, Ricky Gervais really does make this movie a little more brighter. I laughed at some parts of the film, I really did, His performance really makes it worth while. This over-the-top love story was well done to be honest. I don't think it's a C-, but it does deserve a borderline C+. It's a good movie to rent.
