Brian's Rating: A- : I really enjoyed this movie.  It is thought provoking and is the type of movie that demands instantly that you watch it again.  So I did, and it did not disappoint the second time.  There are so many layered things in it, that honestly, unless you are a literary genius, its almost impossible to pick up on all of it the first go around.

I never saw the Theatrical release, so I have no basis of comparison.  As a rule, Directors Cut's are almost always better, so I always start with that when its available.  Without seeing what the cuts are, I have to say that I cannot even imagine what would be cut out.  Not very many scenes are extraneous in one way or the other.

I can see why this is a cult classic among geeks.  I count myself in that group, and its easy to see how this can provoke a 45 minute discussion anytime it is brought up in a gathering of 2 or more geeks.

Sure, the movie has some flaws, but I find myself overlooking them due to the sheer inventiveness of the movie.  I really liked the story, and I liked how it was portrayed (for the most part).

It gets my recommendation, although its not for everybody.
