Synopsis:

The canine star of a fictional sci-fi/action show that believes his powers are real embarks on a cross country trek to save his co-star from a threat he believes is just as real.

The Freak's Rating: A- : I have been a Pixar junkie since Toy Story.  I was disappointed that they weren't attached to Bolt's development as I feel it could have been enough to send the rating to a solid A.  Pixar does animation on a whole different level and sadly all other animators are held to their standard.  Bolt goes back to basic animation, but adds an element that will soon be taking over movie theaters...Real 3D.  Real 3D is the future people, especially when it comes to digital animation.  If you have seen Bolt already, but not in Real 3D, consider seeing it again.  The technology has excelled far above previous generations, with a seemless transition for your eyes and no red/blue layers of film on the glasses.

The storyline of Bolt is wonderfully written.  It is easily relatable on all age levels and hilarious to boot.  Dialogue is smart and pacing is sharp, never allowing a lull to sink in.  Characters of the film are instantly classic such as the groups of pigeons and the hamster in his ball.

Voice casting is done well with Miley Cyrus, as her raspy voice is instantly recognizable to younger generations.  Travolta is an odd choice as Bolt, obviously done for parents' benefit, but never having enough punch to carry the character home.  With so much emphasis on Bolt as the primary character, a stronger actor would have been a better choice.  Not withstanding the Travolta option, other casting in the film is done quite well.

Bolt is a good family picture, sporting plenty of comedy and dog mannerisms to attach audiences and keep both parents and kids laughing.  It isn't quite up there with Nemo, but it blows the heck out of any straight to video release.

Jen's Rating: A- : We saw this in 3D which I highly recommend if possible in your area.  This movie was adorable and very entertaining.  I especially liked the pigeons, they got the movement of their heads so accurate and they were also hilarious.  Much better than Wall-E, it seems Disney is back on track.

Sebastian's Rating: B+ : It's seeing you say that wall-e was a dissapointment to you and this movie was better, made me go see this film.

At first the beggining was brilliant. the action was non stop entertainment. Considered well done to me. The second thing I like about this movie is The charactors; The pigions had me cracking up, and the hamster in the ball was just so cute it made you laugh, especially when he's like 'I eat DANGER for BREAKFAST!' Haha, classic.

What dissapointed me was the storyline. It was so well done, and the ending was really good, but it didn't have that feel to it. The meanings of the story felt like it has been done before, and the quallities of the movie were there, but it didn't appear though.

It's harsh to say thata pixar made junkie films after toy story, to be honest, they are improving dramaticly, and not just in the animation. And just to note: Pixar is not disney, so if pixar ever make a bad thing (rare) don't blame it on disney, vice versa.

I found wall-e to be a beautiful movie, already seen it 4 times. It was silly but the mushy ending and the feel good feel to it made it an enjoyableexperience you'll never forget.

The Shou's Rating: A- : For its genre this film is quite a good film. It has a very original storyline, in-depth characters, good animation and a fairly good cast.

Bolt is unique as a viewer you become emotionally attached to the dog and cat (even if you're a dog person). The characters were really well developed.

The animation in this movie is fairly good for a non-pixar film. I guess its what you expect of a CG film.

The concept of this film is original  there aren't too many films with a similar concept. Although the storyline is rather basic (dog and cat hate each other, then become friends and then split and then finally living happily ever after.

The casting is quite interesting. After watching the film I discovered that John Travolta was responsible for the voice of Bolt. I was shocked, he doesn't seem to be the sort of cute and cuddly guy.

Overall it was a good film, I highly  recommend that you watch it as it is an enjoyable experience.
