Synopsis:

Ron Burgandy and Napolean Dynamite play Chaz Micheal Micheals and Jimmy MacElroy in Blades of Glory. Wait, did I say Napoleon & Burgandy? Well face it Jon Heder & Will Ferrell, that IS who you are and you'll never escape it, especially when you play the same character in every film. Both of you should stop going back to the same characters over and over.

Anyways...Chaz & Jimmy get in a well-choreographed fight after tying for Olympic Gold and are therefore forced into retiring from professional men's figure skating. Well lucky for them a stalker and a former coach (played by the TV show Coach's Craig T Nelson...casting director dug deep on that one) conjure up a plan to exploit a loophole in the rules and team the two up for paired figure skating.

The Freak's Rating: F : Will Ferrell can make practically anything funny. His mannerisms sell the character and make the audience laugh. The problem is that Will is the only humor in the entire film. The plot is insanely repetitive of hundreds of comedies. The writers of this movie have four writing credits between the four of them and it shows. There is nothing to enjoy here, and I really wanted to!

The real problem is that you can almost see the script in front of you. It reads...Scene two - Will does his thing, Scene three - Will does his thing, mix in the chick from The Office and a couple of SNL alums, etc...
Now you know with a film like this the laughs will come from the gay moves that figure skaters, especially men, perform and the awkwardness of two straight men doing them together. I'm childish enough with my humor to laugh at all of those. But that isn't enough for me to ever see the film again. A side story in the news on this title was that this was the first title that Paramount pulled as a Blu Ray release (my format of choice) and released exclusively on HD DVD. After seeing it, HD DVD can keep it!

Suzanne's Rating: D- : A friend lent me this movie.  Since it was due back to the bookmobile tomorrow, I just watched it.  I had to fast forward through most of it honestly. I like Will Ferrel movies and I liked Jon Heder in Napoleon Dynamite so I thought it would be worth watching.  NOPE!

Eric's Rating: F : How many times have you and your friends quoted this movie? None? Then what's the point?

Jen's rating: D+

Sebastian's Rating: C : actually it was pretty fun, worth renting out i guess
