Synopsis:

After visiting 2015, Marty McFly must repeat his visit to 1955 to prevent disastrous changes to 1985... without interfering with his first trip.

The Freak's Rating: C- : In an enormous dropoff from the first of the franchise, Part 2 picks up precisely where the first film ended, taking a never-before-seen approach to filmmaking in cutting in scenes from the first film and remixing others. Adding Elizabeth Shue to the mix as Marty's love interest, a move that makes zero sense because of her amount of screen time, is the only noticable casting change and all the favorites from the first film are back for more.

The film really falls apart in the second act, where the future/past gets jumbled because of a mistake with a sports book Marty picks up at a store in the future. At some point you completely lose any feeling for the characters and quite simply want it to be over. Though we revisit the 1955 world from the first film in a new perspective which is very interesting, there are too many differences from the first film that are noticable (perhaps because I viewed the entire trilogy within a couple days) for you to suspend disbelief.

Crispin Glover isn't featured enough to merit the perfect performance he did in the prior film and the idea of Biff and his bullying wears incredibly thin in a few seconds. The franchise is certainly headed for a nose dive and this is the dip in the storyline before it bottoms out in the third chapter.
