Synopsis:
Successful and single businesswoman
Kate Holbrook (Tina Fey) has long put her career ahead of a personal life. Now
37, she's finally determined to have a kid on her own. But her plan is thrown a
curve ball after she discovers she has only a million-to-one chance of getting
pregnant. Undaunted, the driven Kate allows South Philly working girl Angie
Ostrowiski (Amy Poehler) to become her unlikely surrogate.
Angie's Rating: C :
This movie was funny in parts, but overall it failed for me. The most
disappointing part is that the funniest parts of the movie are in the
previews.... I should have known, but I thought Tina Fey would have been a bit
more successful with this one. Some scenes felt forced and there was never
great chemistry between the actors... just not silly enough or sincere enough to
win me over. Wait until it hits video if you still really want to see it.
Jennifer M's Rating: B- :
I found the beginning of the film funny, but was slightly disappointed
with the ending. Fey is a great writer and I believe the ending was just too
predictable. Nevertheless it is certainly worth a rental when released on video
or a matinee ticket price.
Robin's Rating: C : I thought it was okay. It was easy to watch but a
little stupid overall. I wouldn't rave about it but it wasn't horrible either.
Jen's
Rating: D : Waste of time. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are much better than
this. Bad editing, some parts didn't even make sense! I think I laughed once
maybe twice.
The
Freak's Rating: D- : I agree with Jen. The only thing that saves
this from failing is Steve Martin. Fey's character was overly harsh in
some scenes to the point where you didn't even want her to have the baby.
Poehler was a complete idiot sometimes, then sweet in others. Horrible
script, mediocre acting, crap...just crap.
