Angie's Rating: B+ : I rented this movie because of a trailer playing on the TV in the video store... it was one of those nights where I was bored and not really seeing anything interesting on the shelves. I'm glad I took a chance and rented this one. It's very well acted, a nicely done script (no getting lost in the complexity of the film), and based on a true story and real problems with our judicial system. I have a great respect for law enforcement and the people who serve in public service positions, so some of this was a little bitter tasting However, the movie showed how the system can be taken advantage of by those in charge in a very real and scary way. I believe it was probably made to raise awareness to that fact, but I liked it for it's relevance to today's race conflict and the perseverance of a woman with all the odds against her finding some measure of victory in her life. It's definitely worth watching, especially if you're in the mood to see a David vs. Goliath type film. (I'd put it in the same category, genre wise, as Erin Brochovich)
